Welcome to my design journey! I'm Rachel Moore, a Lead Product Designer navigating the ever-evolving landscape of user experiences. With over a decade of experience, I've honed my craft through diverse collaborations with consultancies, in-house teams, and as a freelance designer.
My approach to design is multifaceted, grounded in the belief that success is not a one-size-fits-all metric. Instead, I see success as a nuanced interplay of factors: the problem at hand, the resources available, timelines, budgets, and, most importantly, the end user's needs. This philosophy shapes my design process, which I view not as a linear path, but as a dynamic journey influenced by context and purpose.
One of my key strengths lies in my ability to leverage a diverse toolkit of design methodologies and technologies. Whether it's research and strategy projects, conceptual projects or design to development. I have the capabilities to produce wireframes, prototypes, UI components, or animations, etc. I tailor my approach to suit the unique demands of each project. I firmly believe that the right tool, applied at the right time, can unlock innovative solutions that resonate with users and stakeholders alike.
Flexibility is another cornerstone of my practice. I thrive in environments where I can seamlessly transition between different stages of a project, whether it's jumping in at the inception, navigating mid-project challenges, or fine-tuning designs towards the finish line. My comfort in navigating these transitions stems from a deep-rooted dedication to understanding both the big picture and the intricate details of each endeavor. I also enjoy learning from colleagues around me, collaborating but heads down time can be equally important.
Central to my design philosophy is the cultivation of empathy. I've dedicated myself to building the empathetic muscle necessary to keep the user at the heart of every decision. This means not only challenging my assumptions but also grounding my choices in data-driven insights. By synthesizing qualitative and quantitative data, I strive to uncover the underlying needs and desires of those I design for, ensuring that my solutions resonate on a human level. I also believe acknowledging good designs stems from understanding the organization, best practices and good usabilty. I also believe measuring success is lead by understanding how the organization is measuring success, I.e number of goods sold, number of downloads, A/B testing and more.
From shaping the future of healthcare at athenahealth to crafting compelling experiences at frog design, my journey has been defined by a commitment to excellence and innovation.
